1974 Norton Commando Roadster Mark II a
I orginally came across this particular machine from a chap who had owned it since it was brand new. I originally went to see him about doing some appraisals for several other machines he had and as discussion centered around if he was interested in selling these  machines he was wanting to be appraised to sell later. The second machine was a 1982 Triumph TSX with 832 orginal km's. An agreement was made for his asking price and I now owned the 74 Norton Commando, I so very much wanted, since I so supidly sold my original 1974 Commando.
As you can see with the picture on the left, this is how I found this particular Norton. It had been in storage since 1982. You got to love the highway pegs, high handle bars and the sissy rack. A complete restoration was done a year later. The side covers and tank are the original paint, as I polished them out. Less the Cheeta Sticker from the original Norton dealer here in Calgary. This particular Commando took First place at the 2003 INOA Lumby Rally for "850 Roadster Class".
The Norton is now on display at the Alberta-Reynolds Museum, The Life and Times of the Motorcycle.
When I picked this particular Norton Commando up from it's original owner, there was two (2) 2 ft. cubic boxes that was with the machine. When I got home, I put the Norton away covering her up and opened the boxes to see what was inside. What a surprise in finding what you see to the left in that this particular gentleman took the time over the years to collect just about everything that a 74 Norton Commando would need. I have the original bill of sale from Cheeta Cycle for the pricely sum of
$ 1, 995.00 If you notice more closely you will see the original licence plate that was issue to the Norton in 1973 and it is now re registered to the machine today. As well look closely and you will see a original Norton search light sitting below the two spare Amal 930 carburetor's. The shop manual and bike manuals are all in new and perfect condition!

This is what this particular Norton Commando look's like to day. By removing the grab rails and putting a Corbin Gun Fighter Seat with Red Piping, this particular Commando is a head turner. It should be noted that the paint scheme on this machine is original and all I did was hand polish it out.
