Rick's Vintage Bikes
Over the years I have had several highway burners and new bikes. My current ride is a 2001 Triumph Trophy 1200, Platinum in colour. I am told this is the fastest of all the Trophies. Hmm........
This particular Trophy was used and had three (3) previous owners. The local Triumph dealer warned me that this particular machine had some electrical & mechanical issues, no matter, took her home, stripped her and resolved those issue.  I put over 6,000 km's this past riding season of 2005 and the "Trophy Bird" as she is called preformed beautifully
This is the mileage as she sat on the Triumph dealers show room floor.

This is what the Trophy Looked like when I saw her on the show room floor at the Triumph Dealer!

Items that have been done to up grade this particular Triumph Trophy
- Tank Bra, this is a must to stop jacket zippers from scratching the tank.
- Clearview Windsheild. Size XL. The difference in rider comfort of being able to sit up right and quiet.
- Brand Name Handle Bar Risers. For tall guys over 6' this is a must. Later in I did some design changes to make the risers safer. See below.
- Race Tech Emulators. This is a must in high speedcornering.
- Corbin seat.
The new Triumph's by Hinkley, have a RAT Triumph Club Membership and it's FREE! Here is the link, just click on it and it takes you straight to the sign up page. Remember, you have to own a Hinkley Triumph machine, as they will ask you for the VIN #.
It is noted in the above that I utilize the Brand Name Handle Bar Risers. In simple lay man's language these device allows me to sit up straighter while riding. However, this past winter I took the front end of the Trophy apart to do some maintenance items and at this point look a little closer to these risers. What I saw bothered me in that the design was a good one but from a safety stand point frightened me. Click on the meshing gears picture above and it will take you to a new page. Here are pictures of before and what I did to improve the handle bar risers.
