One must remember that when you start doing restoration work, networking is a big part of being able to start, work and complete a project. I have been fortunate over the years to come to know a number of people, although not directly related to the motorcycle industry, have been extremely helpful in allowing me to complete these projects.
This page is dedicated to those people who took the time to listen to what I wanted, made suggestions and ultimately the services they supplied was in valuable to me and the machines that have been restored.
To those people I will list here, click on the logo and it will take you to their home pages.
Links to my Suppliers that I Recommend.
Walridge is an excellent supplier based out of London, Ontario. The chaps name there is Michael Partridge. If you have your part numbers ready, you can Walridge toll free at 1-877-800-7337. Remember all orders over $ 500.00 Canadian are shipped FOB to your point of location.
British Cycle Supply are based out of Wolfville Nova Scotia and somewhere in the north eastern US. I have had some dealings with them, but because of the distance, I prefer to deal locally. They have an excellent Technical Page that can be found by following the links on the British Cycle Supply main page.
British Wiring
One of the biggest issues when restoring Made in England motorcycles is the wiring. I found these wonderful people by accident. They can supply just about anything that Lucas, The Prince of Darkness can throw at you. Klick on the UK flag and enjoy their web site.
One of the most mis understood and frustrating items on most British Motorcycles is the Amal Carburetors. Bruce Chessell has over the years re-sleeved a number of my Amal Concentric carburetors to make them good as new. The thing to remember, as long as your pilot idle mixture jet is clear, your carbs can be rebuilt to new condition.
The first thing people look at on a number of items on any restored vintage motorcycles is the paint especially on the gas tank. I have used several people but the one I have had more work done is Doug Veness here in Calgary, Doug is known as the Harley Davidson specialists, but does a marvelous job on vintage British Iron as well.  You can contact Doug at 403-703-5772.

Powder Coating is just that, Powder Coating. Over the years and a number of projects later my regular powder coater has gone by the way side. I have discovered a small shop in the Foothills Industrial Pasrk area in the SE Calgary. Excellent shop from stripping to final finish as  they work hard to deliver the finished product to the customer’s expectation. Their phone # is 403-243-7700. Address is # 3, 4425 - 64 Ave SE.
Colt Powder Coating Ltd.
Westpen Industries Ltd.
Whenever I do a restoration, I try and salvage all the fasteners from that particular machine. They are then washed in varsol, bead blasted clean and I take them to Westpen Industries to have them re cad plated. These people are not cheap, but they do put out some of the best cad plated fasteners I've yet to see. Contact there is Bipin Bhatt and the phone # is 403-279-6254
I highly recommend this small independent shop for Japanese and in particular the new Triumph Hinckley Motorcycles for tune up's and in particular setting your machine up on the Dyno. I did my Trophy 1200 and the difference was extremely noticeable. Put some serious miles on the Trophy since Donnie did the work and the fuel economy went from 35 mpg to 46 mpg. Without question the time taken by Donnie and his staff was worth the money to sort the Trophy out. Your contact there is Donnie Fergin. 403-277-0152. Click on the logo to the left and it will take you to his home page.
Calgary Seat Cover
We have all been faced with the fact the bike that we are restoring needs to have the seat recovered. I found these wonderful bunch of people while wanting to get some seat covers put on my new truck. This is a very small family orientated company that is located across the street from Walt Healy on 12th Street N.E. What I liked about them is they take the seat cover off, check the foam and if need be will construct a new exact piece, sand blast the old seat pan if it is metal, refinish it  and fabricate an exact replica of what came off. Logo missing on the back of the seat, no problem, they have silk screening equipment to replicate. Triumph's and Norton's as well! Hard seats such as Corbin's, that to can be altered to suite our cheeks. Contact there is Lisa Wickhorst and her number is 403-291-1550.
Smith Speedo & Tachometer
Specialists
We have all faced the fact our Speedo's and Tachometers that are used on our vintage motorcycles need refurbishing, new bezel, glass or a complete rework. I came across this gentleman who in my mind takes our old worn or should I say dries out (meaning internal grease) and makes them like new again. This gentleman's work is outstanding to say the least. The company is called Retrobike and his name is Dave Sauerberg. His number is 403-381-0623 or you can contact him at davestella@shaw.ca
Dave can direct you to your nearest dealer in your area.

Smith Speedo & Tacho Cable Manufacturer
Speedometer and Tachometer cables in the pasdt number of years have become more and more poorly made. Not dure why, by in the fall of 2007, Dave Sauerberg and I purchased what was left of a company called Alfa Instruments in Toronto. Shipped 8.5 tons of stock west and I discovered in the pile the complete manufacturing tools & dies for manufacturing the original Smiths Cables. After much searching throughout the US and the UK, I have discovered the need for quality cables, not only for our beloved motorcycles, but British cars have the same issues. Rick's Vintage Bikes & Cables are now replicating the exact cables using factory equipment, drawings and fittings. 1-403-274-076- or email me macprj@teleplanet.net.
